Credit unions connect face-to-face with policymakers during Caucus visits

Credit union advocates from around the country are hiking Capitol Hill as part of the 2024 Congressional Caucus, meeting directly with members of Congress as they return from the summer recess.

Leagues and credit unions are hosting members of Congress and their staff during one-on-one meetings and group events, along with regulatory visits.

Federal lawmakers from Florida, Georgia and Alabama joined credit union advocates in a reception organized by the League of Southeastern Credit Unions and Affiliates at the U.S. Capitol.

Credit unions stressed the importance of the credit union tax status and how it lets credit unions serve those left behind by banks. Advocates also expressed concerns with rising fraud costs and the need for data privacy and security solutions.
