Credit union-supported candidates win special elections
Credit union PAC-supported candidates both won in a pair of Florida special elections Tuesday.
Republican state Sen. Randy Fine won Florida’s 6th Congressional District race to replace former Rep. Michael Waltz, who now serves as President Donald Trump’s national security advisor.
State Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis, R, won the Congressional race in Florida’s District 1. He replaces former GOP Rep. Matt Gaetz. Patronis met with credit union leaders, including representatives from America’s Credit Unions and The League of Credit Unions, at Navy Federal Credit Union in Pensacola last month.
America’s Credit Unions PAC and the League of Credit Unions provided support to Patronis and Fine in their races.
