Hear from Nussle on latest NCUA developments

America’s Credit Unions is closely engaged with the White House, Administration officials, NCUA, members of Congress, and others to get insights into what the removal of Board Members Todd Harper and Tanya Otsuka means for the agency and credit unions.

On Monday, a free webinar for member credit unions, leagues, and other industry stakeholders and led by America’s Credit Unions President/CEO Jim Nussle is scheduled to share the latest details that are available and answer questions in real-time. Register for the webinar here. Attendees are encouraged to submit questions ahead of time to help inform the conversation. There will also be time for Q&A during the webinar.

Nussle provided members with a brief video update yesterday. While not all answers are known, Nussle highlighted the FAQs (a new version is available to members online) that answer questions related to statutory requirements, legal precedent, and potential scenarios.

“I know it’s hard not to speculate, and fears are circulating about the future of our industry, I firmly believe that credit unions are in the strongest position possible right now—through our strong advocacy efforts and unified voice strategy—to influence policymakers and protect our industry,” Nussle said.

America’s Credit Unions will update the FAQs and keep members informed as more information becomes available. The association also convened a meeting of all leagues Wednesday to discuss and share intel and plans, and has had several conversations with reporters since the news broke to keep the industry informed.
