Credit unions talk state, local taxation at NCSL Legislative Summit

America’s Credit Unions, the American Association of Credit Union Leagues, Leagues, and credit unions brought the credit union perspective to state legislators this week at the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) Legislative Summit in Louisville, Ky. The NCSL is an organization of state legislators and staff, and the summit brings them and other professionals from around the country to discuss policy.

Credit unions participated in a panel hosted by the NCSL State and Local Taxation Task Force, led a second panel with a local Kentucky credit union inside the Exhibit Hall, used geofenced digital ads, and sponsored a roaming billboard truck through downtown Louisville.

Credit unions also staffed a booth in the convention hall where they shared state-specific data on the credit union economic benefits realized by members (and non-members).

The summit is also an annual opportunity for credit union advocates to directly engage with state policymakers on credit union priorities.

America’s Credit Unions, Leagues, and credit unions also attended last month’s American Legislative Exchange Council meeting in Denver, participating in discussions on earned wage access, privacy, artificial intelligence (AI), among other topics.
