This week: Tax hearing, nominations, NCUA board meeting and more
Action heats up in Washington, D.C. this week with Congress back and the NCUA holding its first meeting of the year.
On Tuesday, the House Ways and Means Committee kicks off its work on tax reform with a hearing entitled “The Need to Make Permanent the Trump Tax Cuts for Working Families.” The takes place at 10:00 a.m. Eastern.
The NCUA board meets on Thursday with a briefing on its 2025 annual performance plan on the agenda. On Capitol Hill, Congress is in session. The Senate Banking Committee will hold a confirmation hearing for Eric Scott Turner, nominated to serve as Secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development, while the Senate Finance Committee will hold a nomination hearing for Scott Bessent, who will be nominated to serve as Treasury Secretary.
