NCUA Chairman Kyle Hauptman has appointed Sarah Bang as NCUA Chief of Staff and Senior Policy Advisor.  

“Congratulations to Sarah Bang on her appointment to serve as NCUA Chief of Staff and Senior Policy Advisor,” said America’s Credit Unions Chief Advocacy Officer Carrie Hunt. “Her dedication to the industry is clear and we look forward to continued close collaboration with her, the board, and the entire agency on issues that are critical to the credit union system.”

Bang has 40 years of credit union experience at nearly every level of the industry. She previously served as executive vice president of industry relations at CO-OP Financial Solutions, president/CEO of Financial Services Cooperative credit union, and in management of several credit union service organizations.  

In 2014 she was awarded the Herb Wegner Memorial Award, and one of the first inductees to the Credit Union Museum’s Herstory exhibit in 2022 for her contributions to the movement. She is also in the Credit Union Service Organization Hall of Fame.  

Bang has served as Hauptman’s Senior Policy Advisory since he joined the board in 2020.
