This week: Congress back in session, work begins on tax legislation
Congress is back in session after its spring break, and reports suggest the House Ways and Means Committee is aiming to mark up its tax legislation in two weeks. Engagement in the Don’t Tax My Credit Union campaign is at a critical juncture and America’s Credit Unions will continue to lead a unified tax advocacy strategy among credit unions, leagues, and other industry partners to ensure the credit union tax status is protected.

- Today, America’s Credit Unions Consumer & Residential Mortgage Lending Conference kicks off in San Antonio, Texas;
- Tomorrow, the House Financial Services Committee holds a hearing on regulatory overreach and legislation to curb mortgage trigger leads, the Homebuyers Privacy Protection Act (H.R. 2808), a bill that America’s Credit Unions’ has supported; and
- Wednesday, the House Financial Services Committee holds a markup of its portion of the reconciliation package.
